Registering for Classes

Registration Procedures
Students must register to attend SCC classes. Registration is final and official only when a registration form is completed and filed with Enrollment Services, and all tuition and fees are paid, or arrangements for payment have been made with Student Accounts.
Early Registration
Early registration provides students with an opportunity to reserve classes for the following semester and summer sessions. Early registration schedules are announced across the campus in the credit course bulletin and at www.salemcc.edu. Students must complete the registration procedure by paying their bills on the dates designated by Student Accounts. Failure to make payment will result in the cancellation of the registration and deletion from the official class list.
Late Registration
Late registration will be permitted through the first five days of the fall and spring semesters and first two days of classes in summer sessions. Students wishing to register after the late registration period must obtain approval from the Provost – Chief Academic Officer or designee. A $20 late fee will be charged in all cases.

Students may add and/or drop classes only during the first five days of the fall and spring semesters and during the first two days of summer sessions. Student also may add and/or drop classes during registration periods before classes begin. All schedule adjustments must be initiated in Student Services. If a student wishes to withdraw from class after the add/drop period, he or she must complete a schedule change form, available in Student Services. The instructor's authorization is required.
