New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey - An Alternate Route to Teacher Certification

NPTNJ Information Session

Thinking of becoming a teacher?  Already have a bachelor’s degree but lack teacher certification?  Did you achieve a GPA of 2.75 or higher with your bachelor’s degree?  If so, Salem Community College has the program designed with you in mind!  New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey is a statewide initiative in partnership with New Jersey City University and the New Jersey Department of Education.  The program -- divided into two stages -- provides an alternate route to teacher certification to qualified candidates.  An exciting and unique component of this year-long training is the opportunity to earn 15 graduate credits through NJCU!  Employment as a teacher is not required for Stage I but will be required for Stage II.  Stage I classes begin June 15, 2009 and run for 6 weeks.

SCC will hold an information session on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 7-9 pm in Room T111 of Tillis Hall.
